Another music post - but this one’s a technical one. Not bit rates and file formats, but how to add music to a Powerpoint file.
Our church went to see the Veggie Tales movie on Sunday - The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything. Our minister’s wife had a surprise for us. She brought along eye patches, scarves, and a hook made of aluminum foil. After the movie, when everybody was in a piratey mood, we donned the props and had pictures taken.
Hence the slide show I worked on this evening. And I want to have a properly piratey song playing in the background. So I have the song, figure out the slide duration for the song length, insert the music on the first song, and give it a whirl. Powerpoint has a different idea of what to do with music - it wants to stick on the first slide until the music’s over. That sort of defeats the purpose. Manually advancing to the next slide stops the music from playing.
And it is possible to have one song playing the whole slide show, following the instructions here. It’s Just that Microsoft, in their infinite wisdom, makes it harder than it should be.
And that makes me want to go Aaaargh.

Ahoy. . . I have “mateys” that do this kind of stuff for me all the time. Keeps me from “shivering me timbers” and having to fight and stuff.

You must be one of those pirates that don’t do anything . . .
And it’s probably not giving away too much of the movie to say that while the title is descriptive at the beginning, it’s not that way at the end.
