I’d seen a red fox last year, at a distance, and without pictures, and without Bettie.  On Tuesday, all that changed.

This was in a part of the yard I had mowed.

I don’t know if she saw us, but it seemed like it.

It was like having our own Nature Channel or something – I thought photographers had to brave the wilds and take weeks to get shots like this.

And yes, she was successful in her hunt. I think it was a mole she caught. Bigger than a mouse. And that tail! It’s almost as big as her body.

One last look around and she was gone.
