Some free programs I mention are for the general public, and have a wide audience. This is not one of those.
KVM is the Kernel-based Virtual Machine for Linux boxes. I am going to be installing this on my 4-core 8G Ubuntu box and seeing how it runs Windows 7.
It’s going to be interesting, and fun. Don’t know how timely, but that’s a different story.

I got native file sharing (AFP – Apple File Protocol) working between my Ubuntu laptop and my Mac. Does that count?

It counts very much! Apple is one of those things where everything is easy or impossible. Congratulations on making the impossible seem easy!
